EARTHERN HUES - Vivek Patel

Located in the culturally rooted town of Anand, Gujarat—predominantly home to the Patel community—this residence was envisioned as a deliberate departure from the region’s conventional design vocabulary. The client, a young nuclear family, sought a contemporary expression that reflects modern aspirations while remaining grounded in practicality.

Subtle references to 70s and 80s ART - DECO influence surfaces in the design, but are intentionally restrained to allow for ease of execution and budget-conscious detailing.

The spatial layout emphasizes flexibility and connectivity. The living, dining, kitchen, and extended balcony are seamlessly integrated into one fluid, multifunctional zone—catering to the evolving needs of a modern family. The private bedrooms are accessed via a passage that extends from the dining area, maintaining privacy while ensuring spatial cohesion.

A bold, decorative ceiling feature anchors the central zones, visually connecting the spaces and offering a strong design identity within an otherwise minimalist envelope.

This project reinterprets regional expectations through a contemporary, context-aware lens, offering a fresh yet grounded architectural response.
